About Coquet Vets

Our Journey

The start of our exciting new venture began in the spring of 2019, although our vision was formed a few years ago. 

Coquet Vets is a brand new, purpose-built practice building designed with the aim of bringing high-quality veterinary services to Amble and the surrounding area.    

The building itself has been designed to have excellent environmental credentials, including sustainable external wooden cladding, photovoltaic electrical generation, high-specification insulation, and a heat recovery system. Externally native trees and hedging will provide wildlife amenity value, and the large client carpark has a permeable surface to reduce groundwater runoff.    

The internal layout aims to provide a welcoming and relaxing environment for the patients and their owners, with separate waiting areas for cats and dogs to reduce any stressful interactions. Opening directly from the light, airy reception space, there are three large consulting rooms to reduce waiting times. 

For day patients and hospitalised patients, there are separate dog, cat, and isolation wards with separate external exercise enclosures. In the clinical areas, there are two dedicated clean operating theatres, a dental theatre with digital dental radiography, an imaging suite with digital radiography, a high specification ultrasound scanner, and an onsite diagnostic laboratory.

Our Aims

Here at Coquet Vets, we pride ourselves on providing a personal and friendly service, not only for our patients but also for their owners, our clients. Having all worked in large and busy environments, we wanted to go back to working within a small and independent veterinary family.

Paramount to our service is continuity of care, allowing us to build relationships with our clients and patients alike. We are a small but experienced team and are here to provide help and support in all areas of our veterinary services, ranging from getting a new pet to general and preventative health care, right through to the treatment of long-term conditions.

The great thing about being independent is that it allows us to run the business with animal welfare at the fore, and provides an opportunity to give back to the community of Amble. We also do our utmost to deliver our veterinary care at affordable prices.
